Hey there!
Welcome to Shawn Bear Scraps! I’ve been digital scrapbooking for 14 years. This is my little corner of the internet to showcase my digital scrapbooking layouts, designs from creative teams I am on, and the latest digital scrapbooking supplies I am fangirling over! I am a 39 year old wife and mom. I live in Georgia, here in the states. I am a Jesus believing, panda loving, digi scrapping, photo taking, memory making, true crime watching, historical fiction reading, nap taking, hike going, football yelling, introverted nerd.

Atlanta Zoo Trip

Atlanta Zoo Trip

So we all know I love panda bears, right? In case you are not aware of that, I am! I have loved them for as long as I can remember. That is partly where my nickname from my hubby came from. It is a play on my name and love of panda bears. Shawn Bear.

Since we live not terribly far away from the Atlanta Zoo,  we try and make it down there as much as possible. At least every-other year. This year though we got a yearly membership! We have made it down there twice so far; and we plan at least one more this year. For a end of summer excursion, we took the boys to the zoo this past weekend.

By "we" I mean Jerr, Isaiah, my sister, her boyfriend, his daughter, her 3 boys, and myself. A lot of kiddos...and it was HOT! Like literally dripping in sweat hot. Which I don't so much mind there. It is mostly in the shade. My sister and all but one of her crew ended up leaving half-way through. My crew, plus one E-boy (which is what we call my nephews. There are three of them, and all their names begin with the letter E) stayed. We circled back around to the panda bears and stayed a bit longer.

My kiddo wanted to see the petting zoo and my nephew wanted to see the owls. He loves owls. He cried so hard when he found out Hegwig died in the books/movies. Bawled his little eyes out. He is going to be an owl for Halloween too! I cannot wait to see that.

Here are some more photos from our trip to the zoo though:

This is pretty much the only way Little E was happy. Since no one would "carry me!", he hopped up on Uncle Jerr's shoulders. As you can see, it made for a happy little boy. You can also see that everyone was pouring sweat and tired. This was about 30 minutes or so before my sister's crew headed out. We did get to get pretty close to a giraffe though. That was pretty cool!

These are a few snaps of my kiddo and his "Brousin" who was also called the Honorary Castings. If you didn't figure out what Brousin was...it is brother-cousin. :-) These two are so much alike! The fight the least; and there is 3 years difference between them. These two live in their own world and love it. The also really loved the goats at the petting zoo. They said it was "real life goat simulator". If you don't know what goat simulator is, count yourself lucky. It is the most ridiculous app game ever.

PANDAS!!! Since there is not such a thing as too much pandas, here are just a few of the panda photos/videos I took. I also left with panda coffee mug #3. There is also never too much of them. As well as panda bear shirt #...I lost count. :-)

Atlanta Zoo Trip

We ended our dripping sweat hot Saturday by having lunch/dinner at The Varsity in Kennesaw and a little back-to-school shopping. The kiddos were slap happy sleepy. Us adults were just happy to be in the AC. :-)

So that is our trip to the Atlanta Zoo. I highly recommend it. If you live in the area and zoos are your kinda jam, check out the membership. We got it after purchasing tickets and finishing our day. They took the price we paid for the tickets that day, off the membership price. The membership covers two adults and 4 kids. To me it is sooo worth it!

Do you like to go to the zoo? Have you been to the Atlanta Zoo? Link me up to your post/photos, or comment below. Thanks for stopping by! I will be back later this week with some yummy digital scrapbooking goodies.
